Houston Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Mark Sanders, Initiated into American College of Surgeons

Houston, Texas (Marketwire) January 4, 2010 – Dr. Mark S. Sanders was among 1,259 Initiates from around the world, who became Fellows of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) during convocation ceremonies at the College’s 95th annual Clinical Congress in Chicago last month.

Dr. Sanders received a medical doctorate degree in 1981 from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and is currently in private practice – opening the Sanders Clinic for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in 2004, with offices at the River Oaks Medical Tower in Houston and the North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.

Dr. Sanders is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with a subspecialty certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

At the Sanders Clinic, Dr. Sanders treats sports injuries of extreme sports athletes from across the United States and offers the latest treatment for arthritis and other degenerative joint conditions.

A published author with research reported in peer reviewed journals, Dr. Sanders is a member of the Harris County Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association (TMA), the Texas Orthopaedic Association (TOA), the Texas Society of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Mid American Orthopaedic Association, and the American Academy of Neurological and Orthopaedic Surgery (Board of Councilors).
