The Elite Membership Recognizes Sanders’ Work in Sports Injuries and Degenerative Joint Conditions
HOUSTON – Dr. Mark Sanders, board-certified orthopedic surgeon of the Sanders Clinic for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, accepts membership invitation into one of the orthopedic community’s most revered societies – the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS).
“I am pleased to be a part of such a respected organization and membership body, which shares the same commitment I do to improving the understanding, treatment and outcome of conditions affecting the foot and ankle,” said Dr. Sanders.
Recently presenting on osteotomy around the knee to an orthopedic group in Lyon, France, Sanders continues to educate both patients and colleagues on common sports injuries and degenerative joint conditions.
He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He has a subspecialty in orthopedic sports medicine and is best known for his no nonsense approach to recovery – getting his patients up on their feet and moving immediately following a procedure.
Sanders has for over 25 years worked with professional and amateur athletes and specializes in ACL injuries, patellofemoral disorders, fractures and dislocations, AAFFD and osteoarthritis.
The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) is a medical specialty society comprised of more than 1,800 members – who are orthopedic surgeons specializing in the treatment of injuries, diseases and other conditions of the foot and ankle.
Members of AOFAS hold membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and are certified by either the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
